Free Surplus Food

Neighbourly helps connect people with free surplus food from local stores, making it easier to find collection opportunities in your area. A range of well-known retailers already use the platform, including Aldi, Sainsbury’s, B&Q and others.

Lidl is also joining the scheme this year through its Surplus Saviours programme in partnership with Neighbourly, with the rollout beginning in selected Midlands branches. This means even more surplus food could soon be made available to local communities through the platform.

Neighbourly has already made a significant impact, helping to distribute more than 300 million meals’ worth of surplus food. It has also supported 297,000 volunteer hours, 5,200 tonnes of product donations and £43 million in local funding, creating a total social value impact of more than £1.8 billion.
