Free Teddy and Book Pack for Kids with Type 1 Diabetes
If your child has recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, you can request a free KIDSAC pack from JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) to help support their journey.This thoughtful kit includes tools and resources designed to help both children and their families understand and manage the condition from the very beginning. A free toolkit is also available for those diagnosed at a later age, including teenagers and adults.What’s included in the free KIDSAC pack:
Rufus the Bear– A soft toy designed with special felt patches to practise blood tests and insulin injections.
Storybook: Ivy and Iver Meet Rufus – A beautifully written tale to help children feel less alone, written by two mothers of children with type 1 diabetes.
Drawstring Bag and Folder – Useful for storing diagnosis materials and information leaflets in one place.
Type 1 Diabetes Information – Practical guidance for families on understanding and managing the condition.
Pocket Guides for Friends and Family – Handy resources that can be shared to support wider understanding.
